Hon. Thomas Lambert

Among the Davenport visitors on Tuesday was Hon. Thomas Lambert, of Sabula. If there be a busy man in Iowa, that man is Mr. Lambert. He is editor of a first-class weekly paper, one of the successful merchants of his place, is now serving his sixth term as mayor, to say nothing of several other enterprises which enlist his attention and engage his capital. While visiting Davenport, Mr. Lambert closed a contract with the Kahlke brothers for a new steam boat to cost $3,000. This is to be used as a ferry between Sabula and Savanna and the man who pays his fare will get the worth of his money as the distance across the river the way the boat runs is two miles and a half.
