Virtue being its reward, Mr. Thomas E. Cannell has been by Gov. Gear, appointed as one of the Iowa Commissioners to the Paris Exposition. We can’t spare you Thomas, the fiat has gone forth you are to be the next Mayor of the city of Maquoketa, so give up your little grip sack and consent at once. “Let us have peace” in the council for one year. Give us harmony for the next twelve months.
