July 21, 1888G. L. Johnson was down to Sabula Monday. – Sentinel. Yes, Josiah, [Josiah is “editing” in the absence of his superior, Willie], Mr. Johnson was in Sabula, as you state. But why did you omit all there is of interest in the item? Hadn’t you yet sufficiently regained Mr. Johnson’s confidence to be informed by him that he went there to meet Tony Brandt and your “Democratic” principal in the St. Louis Convention, the managers of the Democratic political troupe that will provide rare entertainment for Republican spectators until the Democratic Convention. The star actors in this troupe are G. L. Johnson, D. A. Wynkoop and A. J. House, and to the Republican spectators the victim of the plot appears to be County Attorney Farr. If their plot succeeds Mr. Farr will be retired at the end of the present term and occupy a place in the Eden Musee of this county’s retired Democratic office holders by the side of the Hon. A.. W. Richardson, the only Democratic official we recall who was retired on one term. By the way, who succeeded Mr. Richardson in the Legislature?
