Our Candidate for Treasurer

Herrick B. Hubbell, of this city, was born on a farm in South Fork township, Jackson county, in 1858. He is a son of Mosher Hubbell and grand-son of banker D. M. Hubbell, and his people are democrats from away back. He attended the public schools in our city for a number of years and prepared himself for the position of accountant through a course at the Commercial College of Davenport. He first took a position in the Exchange Bank, but with the establishment of the Citizens’ Bank he became its cashier and has held that position ever since. He has held the office of city treasurer for several terms, the office of county treasurer for one term and is re-nominated for a second. He is a young man of industrious habits, careful and competent and of the highest integrity.
