HARRISON, WILLIAM H., Owner, Harrison Furniture Company, Maquoketa, born Maquoketa, August 7, 1882, son of William H. and Ada (Whitfield) Harrison, both deceased. He was educated in the public schools of Maquoketa. He became associated with Harrison and Sons, Furniture and Undertaking, a business established by his grandfather, Benjamin Harrison, in 1850, and continued by his father, William Henry Harrison; in September, 1951, he disposed of the undertaking part of the business, but still continues to own and operate the Harrison Furniture Company. He is a member of the Odd Fellows, Chamber of Commerce and Izaak Walton league. Hobbies: fishing and hunting. Married, Maquoketa, October 3, 1907, Cora E. Meginnis, daughter of William Wallace and Emma (Lyle) Meginnis, deceased, member of Rebecca Lodge, Tuesday Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution. Child: Marion, former Iowa teacher, married to Louis Herrick, also former Iowa teacher, now retired, living in Amherst, Massachusetts.
