January 19, 1869FANCY PIGS – James Dunn, of Otter Creek, Jackson county, marketed 28 pigs yesterday, receiving therefore the snug sum of $1,003.98 in “greenbacks”. The pigs were of a choice breed, none of them 15 months old, and sold to “brother” Murphy, at $12.25 per cwt. He says they are the best hogs he has had this winter. They were small-boned, well fattened, and a desirable lot to pack or ship. – Dubuque Herald, 12th inst.
Mr. Dunn is one among the very best farmers in the county. As a member of the Board of Supervisors, no one looks more closely after the interests of the county than Mr. Dunn. As a county legislator, he has given universal satisfaction; and he is our first choice to represent our county in the State Legislature, next winter.
