George William Talbott (as stated in his obituary) was the son of Joseph Talbott and Elvira Troth. Joseph Talbott was born 19 July 1804, the first white child born in Monroe Township, Ashtabula, Ohio. Joseph moved in about 1830 to Attica, Warren, Indiana. They lived along the Wabash River. On 31 May 1832 he married Elvira Troth who tragically died soon after on 28 June 1834. Their only child was George William or Washington Talbott. The gravestone of George Talbott at the IOOF Cemetery in Marengo, Iowa, Iowa gives his name as George M. Talbott.

The parent of George were Daniel Talbott and Amy Harrington. Daniel was a Quaker from Calvert County, Maryland.

I have thirty years of research on this family including their lineage back to about 1630. Please let me know if you would like to know more.
