We are looking for the adoption records of Walter l. Evans who was adopted by the Lewis L. Evans family in Williamsburg. We contacted the Marengo courthouse a couple of times and were told the records were sealed by the family. the adoption was done around the early 1900's so what would it hurt to release the records now? We would like to know if there are any Evans family members still in the Williamsburg area or Iowa county area.
Any help would be appreciated in finding Walter's original family.
