I was wondering if anyone out there would have any information on this person. Here is a transcription of a letter that my grandmother had in her family files:

Victor, Iowa
October 13, 1948

To Whom It May Concern:

This is to certify that the undersigned has examined the records of St. Jon's Lutheran Church, Victor, Iowa, Lincoln Township and has found the following record in the first volume of the Church's Record, on page 39 (thirty nine), line 11:

"Maria Attilie Slager was baptized on October 24, 1880 in the presence of Heinrich Loeschen and Maria Loeschen."

There is no record in our Church books as to the date of Maria's birth.
