Chris, I have a 1960 Iowa County Farm Directory, and it lists "Schmuecker, E.J., Mar. 4, Wash., 1-O".
This indicates a Post Office address of Marengo, Route 4, Washington Township, Section 1, and that he is an Owner. Interestingly, nearby is also listed "Kimm, Ervin, Mar. 4, Wash., 1-0"

I will scan the Washington Township plat, showing the names and location, and send it to you via separate email.

It may be interesting to compare the plat with the 1875 atlas map of Washington Township here:
