Phyllis J. Patterson, age 75 of Marengo, died Monday, January 2, 2006 at Rose Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness. Graveside Services, 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Marengo Cemetery with Rev. Louis Bell officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, January 4 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with the family present from 4 to 7 P.M. Memorials may be contributed to the Marengo Library Fund or Amenity Hospice.

Survivors include two sons, Jack and wife Micky of Marengo and Tom and wife Julie of Covina, CA; two grandchildren, Brad Patterson and fiancee Tamara of Marengo and Stacy Rump and husband Jim of Keystone; two step-grandchildren, Alex and Lenore Zoll; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duane “Bolly” Patterson and two brothers, Truman and Lawrence.

Phyllis Jane Ramsell was born July 4, 1930 in Eldora, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Ethel Durr Ramsell. She received her education in the Eldora schools and graduated from Marengo High School in 1948. She married Duane “Bolly” Patterson on June 10, 1948 in Macomb, IL. Phyllis was employed as a secretary over the years at Iowa Valley Schools, Amana Refrigeration, Oakdale in Iowa City, and for Iowa Social Services in Marengo. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marengo.
