WILLIAM ROHRER DIES AT GRINNELL HOSPITAL

William Emry Rohrer, son of Hiram T. and Nancy Ann Gwin Rohrer, was born January 21, 1871, on the old home place northwest of Victor in Poweshiek County. He passed from this life at the St. Francis Hospital in Grinnell, Friday afternoon, March 12, 1948.

He moved to Victor with his family in 1908. Although he retired at this time, he continued to help when needed on the farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, on brother, Jacob Sidney; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Viola Bricker and Mrs. Ethel Mae Glass.

Surviving are two brothers, Charles and J.M. Rohrer; one sister; Mrs. Susie McBride, all of Victor; eight nephews; four neices; other relatives and friends.

Mr. Rohrer was always kind, considerate, and had a deep interest in community projects, and a good neighbor. He will be missed by his many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the McAninch Funeral Home, with the Rev. Martin Greer officiating. Instrumental music was provided for the service. Pall-bearers were six nephews: Raymond, Wallace and Rex Rohrer, James and Bert Glass and Lloyd McBride. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Glass of Malcom, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Rohrer of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hall of Waterloo and Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Johnson of Des Moines.
