Theresa Lynn Thomas passed away on April 30, 2024, at the age of 66 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born on July 23, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio. Theresa was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Theresa was known for her kindness and generosity. She had a deep love for her family, friends, and grandkids. She was a devoted follower of the Lord and cherished her time spent at church.

In her career, Theresa had worked at various places including Benco Manufacturing, JCPenney, Home Depot, Nordstrom, and Kwik Star. She was dedicated to her work and valued her professional relationships.

Outside of work, Theresa had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She enjoyed hosting exchange students, traveling both abroad and stateside, creating stained glass art, watching her favorite programs on YouTube, and attending church.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Richard, her daughter Mercy Dolezal (Steve), her son Toby Thomas (Gina), her stepson Lynn Thomas, her stepdaughter Cindy Upah (Brent), her granddaughters Rylee Dolezal, Aoife Thomas, Wren Thomas, Mersadie Jade, and Michaela Stephens, and her grandsons Reece Dolezal, Lucas Thomas, Kyle Upah and Keven Upah. She is also survived by her sister Diana Ealy (Pat Wedmore), and her brother Tom Koeppen. Theresa is preceded in death by her father Glenn Koeppen and her mother Mary Marler.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Theresa will be held July 21,2024. It will be an Open House, 2-4pm at Prairie Gardens in Cedar Rapids. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Safe Haven of Iowa County.
