Ruth Irene Attwood, 86, of Center Point, Iowa, left for her heavenly home on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Anchor Bible Church (formerly, Center Point United Methodist Church), Center Point. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023, at the church. Burial: Center Point Cemetery. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point is assisting the family.

Survivors include her children, Teresa (Dan) Scheeler of Center Point, Michael (Sally) Attwood of Amana, Renee (Mark) Zahn of Seymour, Wisconsin and Karla (Paul) Stodola of Vinton; and grandchildren, Aaron Tritle, Brian Tritle, Kyle Scheeler, Keri Scheeler, Brett Attwood, Andy Attwood, Jayson Attwood, Brandon Yansky, Rusty Yansky, Nicolas Zahn, Emily Zahn, Paige Stodola, Jake Stodola and Taylor Vogt; great-grandchildren, Keegan and Kylyn Scheeler, Breckin Knutsen, Brennan Henderson, Harper Tritle, Ruby and Max Vogt, Haisley and Brixten Roffers, Mayson and Annabelle Attwood, Ava, Lincoln and Cayla Attwood, Ashton, Hannah, Aubrey and Scarlet Attwood; Avery, Byilynn, Hazel, Eleanor, and Riggins Yansky; great-great-grandchild, Oaklynn Henderson; sister, Rita Molitor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Everett and Robert, husband Ray in 2009 and companion Robert Zieser in 2022.

Ruth was born September 25, 1936, the daughter of Raymond and Myrla (Deal) Edaburn. She grew up in rural Center Point and graduated in 1954. Ruth was united in marriage to Raymond Attwood on September 4, 1954, at Center Point United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife and mother, always taking care of everyone’s needs from hauling in the corn during harvest to baking the best birthday cakes and pies. She worked a short while as a bus driver for Center Point schools. In retirement she and Ray liked living in warm places in the wintertime, playing cards and taking trips. She had a passion for the Cubs and Hawkeyes. Ruth was a member of Anchor Bible Church and Federated Garden Club. Most importantly, Ruth’s kind generous spirit and love for Jesus will long be remembered. She will be missed.
