Williamsburg-Doris L. Polich was born July 17, 1918 in Chariton, Iowa, the daughter of Luther and Grace Arnold Wilkinson. Doris was united in marriage to Tony Polich on July 24, 1937 in Chariton. She was baptized and was a member of Saylorville Baptist Church. The couple farmed in Chariton, Polk City and Johnston areas until their retirement. . They moved to Highland Ridge in Williamsburg in February 2005. Doris died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a Brief illness at the age of 87 years. Doris is survived by her husband Tony of 68 years; three daughters: Connie (Lanny) Robbins of Midland, Michigan, Pat (Gar) Mayer of Williamsburg and Sandy (John) Fausch of Louden, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren: Jim Robbins (Kim), Debbie Vance (Bruce), Tami Minnehan (Anthony), Curtis Mayer (Jamie), Craig Mayer (Melissa), Mark Fausch and Aundrea Shippers (Neal) and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death his parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2005 at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Officiating will be Pastor Eric Nygren. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 am until service time. Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Friday at the Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines. Memorials are for the Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church.
