Charleen J. Disterhoft, age 86, of Marengo, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg. A private graveside service will be held at Koszta Cemetery. Visitation: 1-4 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Charleen is survived by her children, James (Rosi) Disterhoft of Marengo, Duane (Holly) Disterhoft of Marengo, Vernon (Kami) Disterhoft of Marengo, and Ann Young of Purcell, OK.; nine grandchildren, Nicole (Justin) Simmons, Amanda (Corey) Clarke, Taylor (Mitch) Halligan, Cale Disterhoft (Michelle), Eric (Kaitlyn) Disterhoft, Emma Disterhoft, Robert E. Young III, Natalee (Tim) Taff, and Blake Primrose; 14 great-grandchildren, Greta, Maisie, and Henry Simmons, Max Taylor, Millie and Alex Halligan, James Disterhoft, Eryn and Dominic Clarke, Gideon, Abraham, and Miriam Disterhoft, and Tucker and Charlotte Taff; and one great-great-granddaughter Aura Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Frank in 2004, and her sister Patricia Hall.

Charleen Jean Randolph was born August 2, 1935, in rural Victor, the daughter of Merritt and Ruth Fields Randolph. She graduated from Marengo High School with the class of 1953. Charleen was united in marriage to Frank Disterhoft on October 8, 1955, at the First United Methodist Church in Marengo. Along with being a homemaker, Charleen was an accountant for Marengo Ready Mix which she owned and operated with her husband Frank.

She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, cross stitching, and making Christmas stockings for her whole family. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Charleen loved sports, but above all she cherished all the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
