William "Bill" Rentsch, age 41, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home in Sioux Rapids.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Church in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

William Robert Rentsch, the son of Richard and Doris (McCall) Rentsch, was born in Spencer, Iowa, on December 6, 1971. Bill spent his youth in the Webb and Sioux Rapids vicinity. He was a graduate of the Sioux Rapids-Rembrandt High School and continued his education at Iowa State University in Ames where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.

Bill was united in marriage to Jennifer Harrison on August 19, 1995, in Ruthven, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Emily and Abigail. For seven years, Bill served as editor of the Farm News in Fort Dodge while residing in Manson. In 1994, they moved to the Sioux Rapids and Webb area where Bill was engaged in farming for many years. In addition to farming, Bill began a construction business in 1995 and operated that business until the present time.

Bill enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of time golfing, fishing, and riding snowmobiles. He was gifted in woodworking and he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Bill especially enjoyed the hours he spent with his daughters, fishing and snowmobiling.

He was loved very deeply by his family which include his two daughters: Emily and Abby Rentsch of Rembrandt, Iowa; his mother, Doris Rentsch of Spencer, Iowa; brother, Walt (Teresa) Rentsch of Tabor, South Dakota; sister, Karen (Scott) Roe of Marengo, Iowa; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; other extended family and his many friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.
