Mary J. Schenkel, 80, of Mackinaw, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Hopedale Nursing Nome. Mary was born May 21, 1937 in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Walter and Elsie Gerard Fetzer. She married Lawrence Schenkel. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and four brothers.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Sandy (Tim) Waltner of Mackinaw, one son, Steven Schenkel of Mackinaw, one grandson, Stephen Schenkel, two sisters and two brothers.

Mary was an LPN. She had worked at Bro-Men Hospital, McLean County Orthopedics and Center for Orthopedic Medicine in Bloomington. She enjoyed gardening and her three dogs.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Services will be announced at a later date. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements.
