Angie loved the local community and was thankful for the incredible support that the family received throughout this fight. In addition, youth sports were incredibly important to her life growing up and now for her kids. The funds will be put back into those causes and will keep her legacy alive. Memories and condolences may be shared with Angie’s family on the Smith Funeral Home website at www.smithfh.com.

Angie was born on March 15, 1981, in Indianapolis, IN before moving to Olathe, KS when she was 5 years old. Angie graduated high school from Olathe South High School while playing multiple sports for the Falcons. After high school, she went to Truman State University in Kirksville, MO where she earned her bachelor’s degree and played soccer for the Bulldogs, earning the nickname “Bruiser”. During her years in Kirksville, she made many life-long friends and met Matt. Matt and Angie moved to Chicago after college, and she worked as a Registered Oncology Dietician. After starting a family, they moved to Naperville where she worked at Edward Hospital before retiring to become a Stay-At-Home Mom.

Angie loved being able to spend her time dedicated to the kids. She also volunteered at Brookdale Elementary School and coached the dominating Unicorn Tiger Dogs soccer team. She enjoyed spending time with and playing games with her family and friends where her competitive nature could come out. Angie was one of the kindest and most genuine people that was always smiling and wanting to lend a hand to anyone in need both before her diagnosis and during her fierce battle. The legacy of the example that she set of strength, grit, positivity, and grace will endure.

Angie is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Matt Beran; her children, Luke, Alaina and Jake Beran; her parents, Dave and Cindy Schuhler; her grandfather, Ken Wyman and grandmother, Barbara Schuhler; her sisters, Lyndsay (Zach) Myers and Kylee (Matt) Curtis; her mother-in-law, Ruth Beran; her brother-in-law, Ben (Jess) Beran and sisters-in-law, Stephanie (A.J.)
