Neale J. McMann, 79, of Marengo, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Marengo Cemetery with Pastor Lisa Crow officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Neale is survived by his wife, Nancy of Marengo; his daughters, Susan Manson (Sandy LaBaw) of Cedar Rapids and Sandy (Robin) Tomney of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, Marlyn McMann of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Karen (Paul) Hallberg of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sarah Ann in infancy; and one brother, Lee McMann.

Neale Joseph McMann was born May 27, 1942, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Eileen Vogt McMann. He graduated from Marengo High School in 1960. Neale and Nancy Patterson were married in Marengo in 1962. He worked at Sanitary Farm Dairy in Cedar Rapids for 10 years, then became an elevator mechanic which he worked at for 25 years, retiring in 1997. Following retirement, he joined his daughter working at Overhead Door in Cedar Rapids before moving to Mansfield, Mo. The couple returned to Marengo in 2017.

Neale was known for his ability to fix almost anything and was a jack of all trades. He built Nancy a barn for her horses. He enjoyed watching Westerns and tinkering with his cars and motorcycles. He especially loved his family and his dogs.

Neale was a Christian and a former Mason with the Masonic Lodge in Norway. He also was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors.
