Funeral services for Myrtle L. Stoneman, 91, Victor, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11, at Smith Funeral Home, Victor. She died Monday, June 7, 1999, at Heritage Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. Torger Johnson, United Methodist Church, Victor, officiated the service. Mrs. Jean Fontinel played hymns “Amazing Grace” and “Hymn of Promise”.

Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids. Casket bearers were Brad Boss, E.J. Boss, Greg Boss, George Hawley, Bill Lofus and Roger Sirowy.

Myrtle Lucile Stoneman was born Jan. 19, 1908, near Millersburg in Iowa County, the daughter of William Benjamin and Cathrine Sauter Harbert. She attended rural school and Millersburg school.

She married Elwood Stoneman Dec. 31, 1925, in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. She lived in Millersburg, Williamsburg, Cedar Rapids and Ames and was employed as a cook. She also lived in Des Moines before moving to Victor in 1967. While living in Victor, she worked as a receptionist for McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home there.

She attended the United Methodist Church, Victor.

Stoneman is survived by one son, Donald, Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter Patricia Hawley, Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granchild.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gus, Myrl and Milo Harbert; and one great-granddaughter, Britnie Grim.
