Playing six nights a week in clubs for 50 weeks a year, for two years. His travels took him to many parts of this country. It included recording sessions in Memphis, TN on several occasions.

He had been active as a Civil War reenactor with the 3rd Iowa Light Artillery, Army of the Southwest. These events were held throughout Iowa and served as a method of teaching living history and getting to fire the big guns that only a child could dream of firing.

The MacKenzie Highlanders played for numerous fire and police department ceremonies throughout the state of Iowa. His proudest moments were getting to play for the Iowa National Guard troop deployments and homecomings especially during the time of the ramping up of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bobby will be lovingly remembered as a devoted, caring and compassionate son, brother, co-worker, and friend. A man who loved God, his country and his family. His friends and family were privileged to be a part of this gentleman’s life.
