Jean E. Austin age 93, of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg.

Funeral Service was 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg with Pastor Dan Jessop officiating. Burial was at York Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Visitation: 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M., Monday, March 9, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to give towards Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Project. Online condolences may be left at klosterfuneralhome,com

Jean Elma Humphreys was born October 4, 1926 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Ruby Myers Humphreys. She grew up in Wyman where she graduated from Wyman High School, then graduated from Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

Jean was united in marriage to James Austin on June 3, 1949. Jean taught and worked for several local businesses in Williamsburg but was mostly a stay at home mother and homemaker.

Jean was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, baking and needlework. Jean loved listening to and playing music. She especially loved caring for her grandkids at her home after school, which she did during their entire childhood.

Jean is survived by her sons Richard (Marilyn) Austin and Roy Austin both of Williamsburg; three grandchildren Buck Austin, Brenna (Danny) Capon and Allison Austin; four great-grandchildren Evie, Lily, and Austin Capon and Ava Hernandez; a brother Dale Humphreys of Minot, ND; and a sister in law Lois Durr of Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James in August of 2019, and a brother Robert Humphreys.
