Memorial service for Darlene K. “Dar” Graesser, 70, West Amana, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at New Apostolic Church, Cedar Rapids. She died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at St. Luke’s Unity Point, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. Larry Dollmeyer will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in the West Amana Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice.

Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.klosterfuneralhome.com.

Darlene Kay Fels was born Feb. 4, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Albert Fels and Louise Neubauer Fels. She attended the Amana schools and graduated from Amana High School in 1966.

Darlene and Robert Graesser were married on March 8, 1964. She was employed over the years as a cook at several Amana restaurants, including the Brick Haus and the Ronneberg. She also sold Avon for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening, her cats, her dog, and tractor rides, especially the WMT Tractorcade. She was an active member of the New Apostolic Church, and enjoyed singing with her church friends. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family, and her many friends.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Graesser; three sons, Bill (Connie), Amana; Steven (Jan), High Amana, and Michael (Vicki), West Amana; and four grandsons, Alex (Amanda), Ben, Andrew and Sam.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
