MARENGO -- Oy, 39, of Marengo, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in Marengo Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, by the Rev. Morris Hurd. Burial: Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his parents, Van and La Lovan of Savannakhet, Laos; his guardian parents, Ying and Nan Vang of Marengo; five brothers, Theng Lovan, Ai Lovan and Nhok Lovan of Laos, Nam Lovan of Dallas and Duane Lovan of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a sister, Sone Lovan of Laos; and 10 siblings with his guardian family.
He is also survived by 34 nieces and nephews and a great-niece.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Oy was born Aug. 10, 1965, in Savannakhet, Laos, the son of Van and La Lothi Lovan. He received his education in Laos and entered the United States in 1987. He was employed for the last nine years on the assembly line of Maytag Appliance Corporation in Middle Amana. He enjoyed fishing, football, spending time with his nieces and nephews and gatherings with his family and friends.
