Ila C. Wade, 95, of Crestview Nursing Center, West Branch, formerly of Parnell, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in the care center after a lingering illness. Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Parnell, by the Rev. Pat Lumsden. Burial: St. Michael's Cemetery, Holbrook. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with prayers at 7 p.m. Arrangements by Peterseim Funeral Service, Kalona.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Ronald and Patricia Wade, Iowa City, and John and Betty Wade, Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and a sister, Glenna Edwards, Iowa City.
Born Oct. 7, 1909, in Parnell, Iowa, she was the daughter of John C. and Agnes B. Malloy Ford. She graduated from Parnell High School, Coe College and the University of Iowa. She married Harley Wade in Davenport. Ila was a teacher for 33 years in Iowa, Johnson and Washington country schools, retiring from Wellman Elementary. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Holbrook, and later St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Parnell, and the Altar and Rosary Society.
