Obituary of Mary Smith from newspaper: (there was another obit North English Record 2-18-1965)

Mary Smith, 74, died Monday morning, Feb. 15 at University hospitals in Iowa City, after being a patient there for the past six weeks.
She was born Aug. 2, 1890, at North English a daughter of Curtis D. and Eva Williams Mahannah. She attended North English schools and Drake University.
She was united in marriage to Merle R. Smith on Dec. 7, 1925 at Des Moines. She was a member of the North English Christian Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and Iowa Rebekah Lodge No. 305.
She is survived by her husband Merle; three brothers, Willis of Butte, Nebr., E. M. of San Francisco, Calif., and Wayne of Pueblo, Colo.; one sister, Edith Hilbrunner of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Clark, Verne, Ross, Wilson and Roy Mahannah, and two sisters, Bess and Nell.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Wednesday. Officiating clergyman was Rev. Fred Woolsey and interment was in the North English Cemetery.
