Rilla Mahannah, 83 Dies in California Burial in North English
North English—Mrs. Rilla Mahannah, age 83, of Long Beach, Calif., died unexpectedly Dec. 27. She was born at North English May 28th, 1880, a daughter of Jesse and Amanda Lindsey Mason. She attended North English school and was married in October of 1897 to J. H. Mahannah, who died in 1941.
The couple lived in North English until 1924 and then lived in Utah for sometime and have lived in Long Beach since 1934. She was a member of the Christian Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors are a son, Dr. L. D. Mahannah of Long Beach, two grandchildren, Robert and Patricia and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Dow Mason of North English; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. B Fred Woolsey officiating. Soloist Mrs. A. C. Schoenthaler with Mrs. Rose King at the organ. Casketbearers: Wynter West, Larry Harris, Theodore Van Auken, Dean H. Thomas, Bruce Warner and Carl Hogendorn. Interment was in the North English cemetery.
