Graveside services for Evelyn F. Buswell, 94, Peoria, Ariz., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg. She died Saturday, March 5, 2005.

The Rev. Carl Cloeter will officiate at the service.

A reception will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be sent to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 500 Clark St., Williamsburg, Iowa 52361.

Evelyn Frances Buswell was born June 26, 1910, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Nicholas and Ida Koepke Kartje.

She married Erwin Newkirk in 1935 and shortly thereafter resided in Williamsburg. In 1936, the couple purchased the Star Drugstore, Williamsburg, which she continue to operate until 1961. Erwin died in 1943, leaving Evelyn and an infant daughter, Ruth Ann.

She married Harold James in 1945 and had a son, David Nicholas. Harold died in 1965.

She married Roy Englebert and relocated to Sun city, Ariz.

In 1990, she married Joseph Buswell, who was with her until his death in 1994.

She enjoyed her many friends, loved to travel and became a Grand Master bridge player in 1986. She was devoted to her church. In her youth, she loved to play golf and she and Harold James were charter members of the golf course in Williamsburg.

Buswell is survived by two granddaughters, Rebecca Frank, Northampton, Mass., and Sarah Philp and husband Frank, Seattle, Wash.; one grandson, Andrew James, Norfolk, Va.; two great-granddaughters, Ruby Louise Philp and Gloria Dee Philp; four nieces, Berniece Roemig, Williamsburg; Elaine Chen, Biloxi, Miss.; Nadine Lilliskov, Cedar Falls, and Vera Bowman, Mesa, Ariz.; five nephews, Glenn Klepac, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Leland Kuch, Keystone; Donald Kuch, Van Horne and James and John Lloyd, both Washington.

In addition to being widowed four times, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Ruth Ann Frank; one son, David Nichols James, and one sister, Mildred Klepac.
