Services for Jerry Denzler, 75, Marengo, were Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with the Rev. Andrew Gray officiating.

Burial is at the Marengo Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Denzler passed away Friday, Aug. 25, at his home.

Jerry was born June 16, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Roy A. Denzler, Jr. and Margaret (Reece) Denzler. He graduated from Iowa Valley High School, Marengo, in 1960, and attended Iowa State University, enrolled in the farm program.

Jerry and Carole L. Possehl were married April 16, 1961 in Marengo. The couple farmed for many years. Jerry was also involved in the real estate and other private business ventures. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife Carole; his daughter, Nicolle R. “Niki” Kearney and husband Greg of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren, Justin and Courtney Kearney; and special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and mother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law.
