Jeffrey Schultz, 60, Oxford, formerly of Mankato, Minn., had his PGA tour card punched for the great tournament in the sky on Saturday, June 24, 2017. A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, July 29, at the Windham Bar and Grill, Windham, from noon to 4 p.m.

Jeff Schultz was born July 24, 1956, in Mankato. His carpentry skill took him around the country and eventually landed him in Oxford, where he was tasked with building a home for Doug and Pam Darrow and their six kids. He quickly fell in love with the area and never left. He became a “member” of the Darrow family and could be seen at all of the family functions.

As Jeff established himself in the area, he came across a young girl seeking love and guidance from a father figure. Jessica Mullinux and Jeff soon formed a bond that could not be broken. Jessica credits Jeff with keeping her alive during a few rough years of her life, and Jeff felt the same way about her.

Jessica would go on to marry Travis Westen and have two children, Samantha and Trever. The kids referred to Jeff as papap and Jeff saw them as his own grandkids. He enjoyed taking Samantha to work with him, and teaching Trever to “golf.”

The Darrow clan expanded and grew up in the Oxford area as well and Jeff was considered a grandpa or uncle to all of the grandkids: Justin Wade and Melyssa, Natalie, Morgan, Faye, and Vincent, Oxford; Lael and Kevin Neal, Urbandale; Landon and Tessa Wade, Kyler, Kellen and Austin, Homestead; Dylan and Katie Wade, Hayden and Halle, Oxford; Kayla and Bill Borseth, Titus and Nora, Altoona, and Karisa Darrow, Tiffin.

He will be known as a kind hearted loving man who would go to the ends of the earth for anyone that he cared about. He lived a simple life, filling the void with those he loved as well as his second love, golf.

Schultz is survived by a son, Josiah; a daughter, Naomi, and several biological grandchildren, as well as several sisters and brothers in Minnesota.
