Celebration of life service for Betty Nail, Marengo, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. She died on Thursday, May 25, 2017, with her family by her side at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo.

Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, south of Ladora.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time

A general memorial has been established.

Betty Kathryn Nail was born Nov. 29, 1929, in Ladora, the daughter of John and Clara (Zimmerman) Hunzelman. She graduated from Ladora High School in 1947.

She married Harold Ray Nail Jan. 31, 1948, in Ladora. She was a bookkeeper for Nail Trucking and Kaiser Ag Chemicals until retiring in 1984. She was a life long member of the Ladora United Methodist Church and was honored by the Red Cross for being a long-time blood donor. She enjoyed bowling, camping at the Iowa State Fair for 45 years and was a Iowa Hawkeye fan even longer. She loved gardening, lending a helping hand to friends and most of all spending time with her family.

Nail is survived by two daughters, Lee Ann (Leo) Haack, Williamsburg, and Sandra (Terry) Kruse, Lone Tree; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 2009; her parents; a son, Larry in 2006; a brother, Lester Hunzelman, and a sister, Verna Joyce Hunzelman.
