Funeral service for Clara M. Septer, 90, Marengo, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. She died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Heritage Specialty Care Center, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. Jim Davis will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Kloster Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been established.

Clara May Needham was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Earle, Ark., the daughter of Thomas and Birdie Lawhorn Needham. She received her education in Earle and married John Robert Lindsey on May 2, 1941, in Wynn, Ark. He died and several years later, she married Harold Septer. He passed away in 1991.

She was employed in the housekeeping department for Holiday Inn at Little Amana for many years. She enjoyed listening to country music and going for drives taking in the beautiful scenery. She also enjoyed eating out, especially Chinese food. Most of all, Clara enjoyed spending time with her family.

Septer is survived by her children, Marjorie Spicka (Charles), Denver, Colo.; Sue Ludwick (Chris), Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Robert Lindsey (Carol), Marengo; Martha Kiecksee (Paul), Swisher, and Peggy Moomey, Williamsburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a sister, Sylvia Layton (Bill), Marion, Ark.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Roger K. Lindsey, in 2012.
