Daniel Eugene Provin, 61, of Brooklyn and formerly of Guernsey died February 21, 2017, at the Brooklyn Estates
.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor, with the Rev. Doug Dauenbaugh, pastor of the Guernsey United Methodist Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Shane Brown, Derek Hall, Anthony, Jeremy and Kyler Provin and Brandon Tuttle. Burial will be in the Guernsey Cemetery.

Visitation with the family present will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 Saturday morning at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Guernsey United Methodist Church.

Danny was born November 2, 1955, in Grinnell, the son of Harold "Mike" and Evelyn "Louise" Humes Provin. He was raised in Guernsey and attended a country school near Malcom and later school in Conroy. He also attended a training school in both Marshalltown and Grinnell.

For many years, Danny was employed with C.D.C. Industries and also in a cafeteria at Grinnell College. He had been a resident of Brooklyn Estates since March 26, 2015.

Danny was a faithful member of Guernsey United Methodist Church and was very proud of his perfect attendance record of nearly 20 years. He held a passion for music and dancing. He was curious in nature and enjoyed his adventures in the Guernsey area. He loved bowling, socializing with his family and friends, and showing his support for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved his family very much!

He is survived by three brothers, Michael (Mary) Provin of Searsboro, Randall (Debbie) Provin of Williamsburg and Rodney (Wanda) Provin of Chetek, Wisconsin; one sister, Connie (Chris) Erickson of Peoria, Arizona; nine nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Louise; and one great-nephew, Mason Brown.
