Clark Albert White was born Feb. 2, 1946, the son of Fred C. and Alice (Gates) White. He grew up on a farm near Parnell, attended Parnell Schools and Williamsburg High School. He went on to receive his business degree from the University of Iowa in 1968 and maintained a lifelong connection with friends from his business fraternity. In 1968 he was drafted into the Army and served his country during the Viet Nam era stationed in Korea. After returning from service, he worked in the publishing industry as a sales representative and editor for Richard D. Irwin/McGraw Hill for 40 years until he retired in 2011.

Loving travel, he then drove cars across the country for the Professional Automotive Relocation Service for several years. He enjoyed special times with family including holidays, baptisms, graduations, weddings and family travels. He was an enthusiastic athlete, who enjoyed playing soft ball and tennis. He loved rock and roll, rhythm and blues, reading, discussing politics, sports, and his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. Attending Iowa Hawkeye football games was one of his greatest joys, especially when playing their arch rival, Iowa State University.

His kind spirit, incredible ability to remember the meaning of every long word, his astute intelligence, honesty and ability to be polite in all situations will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his former colleagues, friends and family.
