Mrs. Ann Mary Kuesel, one of the older residents of Williamsburg, died Friday at the home of her daughter Mattie in Williamsburg, with whom she had made her home for the past few years. She was eight-five years old at the time of her death.

Mrs. Kuesel was born Anna Mary Meyer in Hanover, Germany, on April 3, 1852. She was baptized in early infancy and in 1866 she was received into communicant membership with the Evangelical Lutheran church by the rite of confirmation. In 1880 she was united in marriage with Henry Kuesel and sixteen years later the family emigrated to America, making their home in Lincoln township in Iowa county. Mr. Kuesel died in 1903 and Mrs. Kuesel continue to live on the farm until 1927 when she came to Williamsburg to make her home with her daughter Mattie.

She leaves to mourn her death three children, Herman Kuesel of Lincoln township; Mrs. Will Meyer of Dayton township and Mattie of Williamsburg; one sister in Germany and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Kuesel was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Williamsburg. During the later years of her life she was unable to attend regularly but continued to hold her own private devotions.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church at 1:30 Sunday afternoon with the pastor, the Rev. T. H. Joeckel, in charge. The text of the sermon was from John 15, 11: These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you and that your joy might be full. A large bnumber of neighbors and friends from the old neighborhood were present at the funeral services.

Burial was made in Lincoln township with Orlo Meyer, Harvey Meyer, Roy Meyer, G. Wilcox, Arnold Fronte and William Kuesel bearing the remains to its last resting place.

Note: Arnold Fronte correct spelling is Fruendt.
