Funeral service for Laurene M. “Reenie” Fiser, 67, Marengo, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo. She died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016.

Barb Furman will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo.

A memorial fund has been established.

Laurene Marie Kimm, was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Iowa Valley High School in 1967.

She married Larry Fiser, May 25, 1968, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo. In her earlier years, she waitressed at Bill Zuber’s, worked at Pioneer Seed Corn, and for the local ABC stores in Marengo and Belle Plaine. She later worked at the Cedar Rapids Post Office as a letter carrier for 19 years until she retired.

She enjoyed mushroom hunting, snow skiing, cooking, and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and friends.

Fiser is survived by her husband, Larry; two children, Travis (Jackie) Fiser, Grundy, Va., and Deena (Darrin) Folkerts, of Dike; five grandchildren, Clair Folkerts, Gabe Fiser, Joe Folkerts, Alexa Fiser and Natalie Folkerts; and a brother, Larry (Patty) Kimm, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her father Dean Kimm.
