Celebration of life memorial service for Delores A. Wardenburg, 88, Williamsburg, was held at 10:30 am Thursday, Oct 6, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. She died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at the Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg.

Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Delores Adella Wardenburg was born April 26, 1928, the daughter of Otto Herman and Adaila Anna (Meyer) Wardenburg in Williamsburg. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was baptized and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1942. Through the years she was employed at several different factory jobs in the Iowa City area.

Wardenburg is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Wayne) Kahler, North Liberty, and a sister-in-law, Elaine Wardenburg, Williamsburg, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Orville and Palmer Wardenburg.
