Funeral service for Edith Humphrey, 99, Millersburg, were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the Millersburg United Methodist Church, Millersburg. She died Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at the English Valley Care Center, North English.

The Rev. Michelle Williamson officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Millersburg Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for Millersburg United Methodist Church and the English Valley Care Center.

Edith Humphrey was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Pilot Township in rural Iowa County, the daughter of Gaylord and Dora (Lacy) Williams. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1933.

She married Marvin Humphrey on Dec. 24, 1937, in Lancaster, Mo. They lived and farmed in rural Millersburg until 1965. She worked as a bookkeeper for Middle America Truck Stop, retiring in 1978.

She was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church where she played the organ for many years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing the organ and piano, traveling and listening to blue grass music.

Humphrey is survived by one daughter, Mary (Willard) Meyer, Pella; two grandsons, Kevin (Martha) Meyer, Keswick, and Darrin (Melanie) Meyer, Pella, and three great-grandchildren, Ella, Blake and Katelyn Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 2003; her parents; one brother, Charles Williams, and a nephew, Larry Williams.
