Marvin Milo Roshek, 78, of Victor passed away July 29, 2016, at the Urbandale Healthcare Center in Urbandale, Iowa.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, at St. James Lutheran Church in Victor with Rev. Michael Kolesar officiating. Organist will be Pam Cronbaugh and soloist will be Richard Huedepohl. Pallbearers will be Matthew and Mark Facile and Rodney, Raymond, Dale and Austin Roshek. Burial will be in the Victor Memorial Cemetery.

There will be visitation with the family present two hours prior to the funeral service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church in Victor or the Victor American Legion.

Marvin was born December 6, 1937, in Grinnell, the son of Milo and Emma Moller Roshek. He was raised in the Victor area and was a graduate of Victor High School in 1956. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served with the 93rd Field Maintenance Squadron.

After his discharge in 1962, he attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then returned to the Victor area and made his home on the farm.

On June 21, 1980, he was united in marriage with Ellen Krotz Mills, in Victor. The couple continued living on the farm until their divorce 16 years later in which Marvin continued to raise their daughter.

For 25 years, he was a seinor aviation mechanic at the Iowa City Airport and later employed as aircraft mechanic with the City of Cedar Rapids. After his retirement, he continued working part-time as an inspector of aeronautics at the University of Iowa. He was awarded Master Mechanic in 2015.

Survivors include two children, Amanda (Reed) Roshek-McMillen of Glendale, California and Andrew (Marisela) Mills of Johnston; four grandchildren, Austin Roshek, Sierra and Abby Mills and Elise McMillen; two brothers, Gerald Roshek of Altoona and Kenneth Roshek of Victor; and one sister, Sylvia Facile.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
