Mass of Christian Burial for Lowell Wuebker, 89, Mt. Carmel, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Carroll. He died Friday, July 8, 2016, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital, Carroll.

The Rev. Timothy Johnson officiated at the service. Con-celebrant was the Rev. Gary Snyder. Music was by Marcy Anderson and Marc Schapman. Lector was Julie Kennebeck. Gift bearers were his great-grandchildren. Eucharistic ministers were Chad Driscoll and Brian Hoffman.

Burial was in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, with military honors by the Breda American Legion. Casket bearers were Austin Wuebker, Adam Wuebker, Josh Pudenz, Ryan Pudenz, Shane Pudens, Morgan Wuebker and Phillip Alley. Honorary casket bearers were Julie Kennebeck, Jodie Driscoll, Kendall Cleveland, Nicole Schapman and Caylee Ng.

Lowell Wuebker was born Nov. 6, 1926, at Mt. Carmel, the son of Henry and Bernadine (Vonnahme) Wuebker. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School. Following his schooling, he served in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in December of 1946.

He returned to the Mt. Carmel area and married Marilyn Ortner Nov. 24, 1951, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. The couple made their home southwest of Mt. Carmel, where he was a grain and livestock farmer. He also was employed as an insurance adjuster for State Farm Insurance as well as doing custodial work for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School.

In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also loved baseball and coached Little League for many years. He enjoyed socializing with his friends, especially at Little Gus’s in Maple River. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Church, Carroll, and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Mt. Carmel.

Wuebker is survived by his wife, Marilyn, Mt. Carmel; his children, Jane (Rodger) Knudsen, Williamsburg; Lynn “Whip” Wuebker and special friend Patty Alley, Maple River; Dean (Bambi) Wuebker, North Mankato, Minn., and Lee (Lori) Wuebker, Lake View; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sylvia Onken, Pocahontas; Jane (Don) Drees, Carroll; Clarise Pudenz, Carroll; Leota (Melvin) Borkowski, Carroll, and Marilyn Ortner, Pittsville, Wis., as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daryl Wuebker; his sister, Bernice Hoffman, and his brother, Wilbert Wuebker.
