Ronald "Jake" D. Jacobson, 66, of Cedar Rapids, passed away in his home Friday, June 24, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June, 29, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the funeral home. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, rural Masonville, Iowa.

Survivors include his fiancee, Tammy Jacobson; daughter, Lori Jacobson; stepchildren, Jason Uhlenkamp, Trisha (Jason) Gardner, Nicholas (Megan Bednarek) Stratton and Heather (Tay Parker Sr.) Stratton; stepgrandchildren, J.J. Uhlenkamp, Hayley and Logan Gardner, Nolan Stratton and Tay Parker Jr.; siblings, Mary Gibbs, R.J. (Julie) Jacobson, Jeff (Christy) Jacobson and Joni (Don "Merf" Merfeld) Jacobson; many nieces and nephews; his best friend, Jim (Tonya) Jackson; and his devoted dog, Bella.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Marie Ridenour; niece, Kendra Ridenour; and his cat, Dawg.

Jake was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Dean and Ollie (Bemrose) Powers. He worked 10 years for Harnischfeger Industries Inc. and then worked at Pioneer in Marengo, for 22 years, as a production technician. Jake enjoyed gardening, canning, John Deere tractors and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, but mostly he enjoyed spreading his love to his family and friends and had the biggest heart of anyone you'll ever meet.
