Donald Lee Dillinger, Age 81 of Marengo, Iowa passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Beloved husband of Carolyn Dillinger for 62 years and loving father of Rick (Jetra) Dillinger, JoAnn (Swede) Erickson and Teresa (Tom) Seiwert. Grandfather of Tosh (Crystal) Dillinger, Travis (Ashley) Dillinger, Eric (Honda) Seth, Jonathan (Crystal) Sieck, Doni Sieck, Jill Duncalf, Jenna Duncalf, T.J. Seiwert and Matthew Seiwert. Great Grandfather of Greta, Gil, Tessa and Amelia Dillinger, Korbin and Isabel Seth, Nevaeh Sieck, Dakota Pierce, Caiden and Berkeley Black. Also survived by many loving brothers, sister, and their spouses, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father Verl Dillinger, mother Inez [Marguerite Amerine] Dillinger, brother Robert Dillinger.

Don grew up on a farm in Iowa and continued the family legacy of becoming a successful farmer. His love of nature was evident while enjoying fishing, camping, hunting and trapping.

Earlier in his life he was very active in sports and enjoyed playing men’s fastpitch softball as a pitcher, was an active fan of Iowa Hawkeyes and later loved playing rolle bolle while becoming a state champion with his friends.

He was an avid collector of John Deere toys and enjoyed riding tractors in parades throughout Iowa. In addition, he was an auctioneer for numerous family estate sales and farm sales.

Don was challenged with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases for several years, however he will forever be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2016 at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine 4-7 PM. Visitation will continue at 9 AM prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the church. Funeral Service 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Clover Ridge United Methodist Church, 125 5th St. North, Walford, IA. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, IA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clover Ridge United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be left for the family at hrabakfuneralhome.com.
