In 1941, she married Ruskin Nidey in Macon, Missouri. Ruskin and Helen established their home in rural Williamsburg and later moved to town. This union was blessed with eight children: Dennis, Sandra, Ronald, Linda, Carolyn, Connie, Susan, and Sherri.

Helen displayed strength, courage, determination and faith throughout her life. She has provided many memories and will be greatly missed by her children, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
