Margery May Hall was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Homer and Lili Drake Hall. She moved with her family to Omaha, Neb.; Brooklyn, Iowa; and then to Guernsey, Iowa, where she completed her education graduating with the class of 1938. Margery was united in marriage to Quentin E. Rose on Jan. 25, 1946, in Marengo. To this union came two sons, Larry and Paul; and a daughter; Kathleen. The couple lived in Brooklyn for a short time before moving to Deep River and purchasing the first of two grocery stores. As a full time mother of three, Margery somehow managed to find time to help Quentin in both stores.

After the death of her husband in 1987, Marge moved to Belle Plaine in 1993 where she was active with the Benton County Volunteers. Then in 2015, she relocated to the Prairie Hills Senior Living Center in Cedar Rapids. Marge enjoyed knitting, crocheting

and was an excellent seamstress and cook. She looked forward to sharing her crafts with her grandchildren and others. Marge was a lifetime member of the Order of The Eastern Star.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents; a six year old sister, Ruth Hall; her husband, Quentin Rose; and a special brother-in-law, Warren Daniels.

She is survived by her three children, Lawrence (Millie) Rose of Monterey, Calif., Paul (Reva) Rose of Geneva, Ala., and Kathleen (Rod Mefferd) Rose of Surprise, Ariz.; a sister, Miriam Daniels of Belle Plaine; and five grandchildren, Sandra (Scott) Rose-Brown, James (Niki) Rose, Cortnei (Loran) Bruce, Anthony (Heidi) Rose and Kelley Davenport. Marge's life was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Lucy, Brandon, Joshua, Isaac, Jacob and Evelyn.

If roses grow in heaven Lord, please pick a bunch from us. Place them in our Mother's arms and tell her they're from us. Tell her that we love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy: we do it every day, but there's an ache within our hearts that never goes away.
