Wallace E. Rohrer, 76, of Victor, passed away at Brooklyn Community Estates surrounded by family and friends on Monday, May 2, 2016.

A private graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Victor Memorial Cemetery in Victor, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Wallace Rohrer memorial fund and sent in care to the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 485, Victor, Iowa 52347.

Walley was born July 18, 1939, to Wallace and Lola Williams Rohrer in rural Victor; he was raised on the family farm and graduated from Victor High School with the class of 1957.
On April 18, 1958, he married Shirley Mitchell in Marengo. The couple made their home in Victor.

Walley was employed as a truck driver and ready mix manager at Manatt's in Brooklyn for 38 years and nine years at Rohrer Fertilizer in Victor.

Wally enjoyed collecting metal cast cars and spending time with his dogs who he considered his children; later in life he became interested in political surveys.

He will be missed by his brother, Charles (Sally) Rohrer of Cedar Rapids; niece, Toni Rohrer and her boyfriend Rod, of North English; nephew, Larry (Karen) Rohrer of Greeley, Colorado; special friend, Kathy Ranfeld of Victor and many other friends.

Wally is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Shirley in 2001.
