Kathleen V. Clear Driscoll
February 19, 1924 – March 21, 2016

Born on February 19, 1924 at her parents’ home in rural Holbrook, Iowa, Kathleen Clear was the daughter of William and Mary (Jones) Clear.

She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Holbrook. She attended rural school and graduated from Parnell High School in 1942.

United in marriage to John V. (Jack) Driscoll on August 30, 1945, Kathleen was a lifelong homemaker and operated Driscoll Tours for 40 years.

Kathleen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was active in the Altar & Rosary Society and the National Catholic Society of Foresters (NCSF). She was also active in many local organizations as well as the Hawkeye Angus Auxiliary, County, State & American Angus Associations, the Iowa Angus Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler. She was very involved in local, state, and national politics.

Kathleen’s priorities were her Catholic faith, and her family, including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Traveling was a passion for Kathleen, but she was happiest when she was helping her husband and sons on the family’s century farm, Walridge Farms.

Kathleen died on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Highland Ridge Care Center at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her two sons Elliott (Rita) Driscoll and Erle (Renee) Driscoll, all of Williamsburg, 10 grandchildren: Veronica (Kyle) Heitman, Theresa (Kirk) Wendhausen, John (Rose) Driscoll, Joseph (Dawn) Driscoll, James Driscoll, Mary Ann (Steve) Keenan, Patrick Driscoll, Jereld (Mindy) Driscoll, Eileen Driscoll, Bridget (Dan) Mahoney; 14 great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Virginia (Driscoll) Breaker of Golden, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, of nearly 65 years, her parents, five sisters and one brother.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Williamsburg. Fr. Joseph Roost will preside. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.

A general memorial fund has been established.
