Arlyn Lee Still, 77, of Bellevue, passed away, Sunday morning, February 28, 2016, at his home in Bellevue, surrounded by his family.

A Christian Funeral Service for Arlyn will be held at 10:30am, Thursday morning, March 3 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Wednesday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and also Thursday morning for an hour prior to the service at the church.

Arlyn was born May 16, 1938 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Howard and Juanita (Dane) Still. He married Cora “Corky” Rupe on June 12, 1960 at Finely Avenue Baptist Church in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Arlyn received a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Buena Vista College. He was in music education in Iowa for over 30 years as a Band Director. He taught at Marathon, Wall Lake, New Sharon and East Central High. After Retirement from education, Arlyn and Corky owned and operated Main Street Sweets in West Branch, Iowa. They later spent their winters in Texas as hosts at various camping parks and spent summers as “Work Campers” at Adventureland, in Altoona, Iowa.

Arlyn was a good man who loved to fish and cheer on the Hawkeyes. His greatest joy in life was picking up his grandson from school and spending time with him. He will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 55 years, Corky Still, of Bellevue; daughter, Denise Still, of College Station, Texas; son Doug Lee (Gemma) Still, of Bellevue; and grandson Kannon Lee Still; and sister, Norene (Robert) Dreessen, of Morningside, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Arlyn’s name
