The family will receive friends 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26th at All Saints Catholic Church with a Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m.

Michael John Lawlor (Mike), age 77, of Knoxville passed away early Wednesday morning, May 20, 2015 after a short illness.

Mike worked for 17 years with IMCO Services, a division of Halliburton, in Southeast Asia, Norway and Central America. He was a drilling fluids engineer, called a "mud man," who worked on oil drilling rigs. He also consulted in Russia with the oil industry. More recently, he worked in security with the Public Building Authority of Knox County and Knoxville, and with Enterprise car rentals in Knoxville.

Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus and All Saints Roman Catholic Church. He belonged to the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, Chapter M, in Lenoir City.

Born in Victor, Iowa, he was the son of the late Michael William and Anna Theresa [Dusterhoft] Lawlor.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan Ann Sholtis Lawlor; several nieces, a nephew and several cousins.

The family will receive friends 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26th at All Saints Catholic Church with a Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. with Father Michael Woods celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675, the Ladies of Charity, 120 W. Baxter Ave., Knoxville 37917, and Breakthrough, a non-profit supporting adults with autism, at 1805 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, 37920.
