Marc David McBride passed away July 23, 2015 at home in Hartford, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at TMC Transportation Training Center, 5929 NE 22nd St., Des Moines, IA Saturday August 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
Born in Iowa City, IA March 30, 1948, adopted by Lloyd and Margaret McBride in April of 1948 and raised on a farm near Victor, IA. He has one sister, Marcia Brooks of Las Vegas, Nev.
Marc went to Victor Public School grades K-8th and graduated from HLV Community Schools in 1966. He farmed with his father until 1974 at which time he married Karen Mical on June 1, 1974 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Two sons were born to them Mical at Grinnell, IA August 31, 1975 and Matthew at Council Bluffs, IA August 31, 1976. Marc has three grandchildren Austin, Cailyn, and Caiden McBride.
He drove trucks for many years, was Traffic Manager at Prairie Meadows for 7 years. Until his recent battle with cancer he worked for TMC Transportation as an instructor.
Marc's enjoyments were sprint car racing and being around his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen June 26, 2011 and his parents Margaret 2002 and Lloyd 1983.
Marc is survived by his 2 sons Mical (Charly Ann) and Matthew McBride, 3 grandchildren, Sister Marcia (Dennis) Brooks, sister in law Betty Upah, brother in law Norman Dvorak, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests cards and memorials be sent to P.O. Box 205, Hartford, IA 50118.
